Media Art

New technical powers lead to works of art that use ideas not suspected at first.  In the best
periods, practice proceeds theory, and works come before notions.  The art establishment
(markets and critics) will eventually understand what the artist - working within a paradigm
shift - instinctively knows.  So today, like during the Italian Renaissance, work must be produced
simply to "record" the development of the artist's "craft."

The artists that make an important contribution, in any school and at any time, know that they
are aiming at the correct goal.So please visit the YouTube channel www.youtube.com/GardenArtist
for select media art samples; excerpts of these three extended series are shown to the left.

Shown on top is an excerpt from "TV-Free" (2001-2002). Shown in the center is an excerpt from
"Waves" (2004-2005).  Shown on the bottom is an excerpt from a high-definition (HD) work-in-
progress entitled "Garden" (2007-2008).  This current work celebrates nature - questions the
commercial world - and tests cultural boundaries.  It will be shown in nine (9) media art pieces,
and it aims at the goal of making the virtual-real . . . making the digital-tangible.
